There is some doubt as to whether this is indeed the true Wookey family crest. The structure of this crest is appears identical to that used by the English city of Wells;
So named because of the Three Wells of St Andrew in the town. This town is the nearest to the Wookey Caves so there is a significant justification for the connection.
